Paul Berry
Welcome to my web site.
I am an independent Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) covering Billingshurst and the surrounding area which includes other villages such as Pulborough, Wisborough Green, Loxwood, Kirdford, Rudgwick, Coolham and Shipley. I set up my driving school in 2000 when I qualified as an ADI.
I have happily and successfully been trading under the name of Paul Berry Driver Training since 2000. In August 2007 I registered the name Billingshurst Driver Training, to reflect a more local feel to my business, but it is important to me to retain my own name on my car and my car signage reflects this.
I hope you will find my web site informative and interesting. If you have any comments or questions please contact me.

Sat Nav Trial.
I am looking in to how I could possibly incorporate the use of a sat nav device into driving lessons. I think there are two key ways that this might be of use.
Firstly, the speedometer is set back in the dashboard so it is difficult at times to observe the speed from the passengers seat. The sat nav is able to display the vehicles speed, although I need to ascertain how accurate this is as part of my trial. In this case, the sat nav would be located on the far left of the windscreen for me to observe it, rather than the pupil. It would not have a route programmed in to it and would not make any sound. I am confident that it can be set up and positioned in such a way that it does not distract the pupil.
Secondly, I recognise how fashionable sat navs have become and that many of my pupils will use one after they have passed their tests. I would be able to offer such pupils some experience of using a sat nav and encourage their safe use. This would involve programming in a route and the pupil listening to, and acting upon the voice prompts. Another possible advantage may be that I can concentrate more on the pupils actions and less on giving directions. I think it is appropriate that I would only do this when pupils are close to test standard.
