I have fitted in my car a video system. I hope to record many lessons which, I am sure, will assist in my pupils learning process. If a difficult situation has developed rather than rely on memory or drawing sketches I can quickly re play the situation in the car on a small monitor and discuss and learn from it. The Theory Test consists of two elements, one of which is Hazard Perception. The video system will, I believe, help to fine tune pupils hazard awareness and help prepare them for the Hazard Perception Test.

The system is primarily an in car training aid but has the added benefits of pupil and instructor security, and of pupils being able to go through the lesson again in the comfort of their own home! If pupils practice between lessons their supervisor may find it useful to watch some of the lesson to see what skills they need to work on.

I aim to have the video recording most of the time but obviously if pupils are in any way unhappy with this they can of course say so. Let me reassure you that any recordings I make will be as private as the lessons themselves. I may re-view parts of lessons at my home at times but generally I will keep recording over the same tape for each of my lessons. The video system will not be allowed to record driving tests.

The video system is easily removed from the car for test purposes or for overnight parking.
